National Students for a Democratic Society condemns the FBI and police raids on pro-Palestine University of Michigan activists

National Students for a Democratic Society condemns the FBI and police raids of the homes of pro-Palestine University of Michigan student activists. SDS calls out the FBI, Michigan State Police for the illegal and unrighteous attack on pro-Palestine activists.
Three activists were temporarily detained by law enforcement. These raids are a scare tactic and an attempt to silence the pro-Palestine student movement. Students can and must make these efforts fail. The Trump administration, University Administrators, and FBI understand the instrumental role that students have played to sway public opinion in favor of Palestine. This is why the student’s demand for divestment, free speech and academic freedom, and an end to U.S aid to Israel is seen as a threat by Trump and University Administrators. Students have great strength in protesting for Palestine.
National SDS is here to remind students to never talk to the FBI or any law enforcement. If anyone is ever visited by the FBI, never allow them into your home, and demand to see a warrant. Immediately contact a lawyer, and tell the law enforcement agents they will only hear from your lawyer. It is of the utmost importance to go public by writing a statement and press releases while calling a rally and protest. Students must expose the FBI’s activities or demand the release of students and student activists.
