No Deportations! Fight Trump's Racist Anti-Immigrant Agenda!

National Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) condemns President Donald Trump’s threats to use the “full and immense power of federal and state law enforcement” including the U.S. Immigrant and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) to conduct a campaign of mass deportations across the country.

During his presidential inauguration ceremony in his first executive order Trump declared a state of national emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border. This coincides with his campaign promises to conduct mass deportations and decimate important policies like temporary protective status and DACA. Young people across the country reject Trump’s racist rhetoric, we know that the 11 million undocumented in this country are our families, friends, neighbors, classmates, and coworkers, not dangerous “criminal aliens” and “terrorists”. We reaffirm that no human is illegal, and that we have more in common with those around us, regardless of immigration status, than we do with the incoming racist Trump administration.

The student movement needs to rise up and resist the impending raids that Trump’s administration is going to carry out against our communities. We also call on our administrators to not hand over information about immigrant and undocumented students. SDS calls on all student groups and progressive organizations to prepare for mass emergency protests against Trump and ICE’s attacks.
