National SDS Statement on Rafah

The bombing of Rafah has already killed nearly 100 civilians as of February 22nd and has been rightfully condemned by dozens of nations as a war crime. Israel claims to be targeting the Palestinian Resistance, by bombing Rafah it has yet again confirmed that its true target is the whole of the Palestinian people. Israel’s attack on Rafah is the next step in its genocidal war on the Palestinian people and the occupation of Palestine. This brutality has continued to escalate through February and March as the deadline for a planned ground invasion of Rafah on March 10th looms.

In the face of these attacks, the Palestinian people continue to stand steadfast against the Zionist occupation and genocide. The Palestinian resistance is continuing their heroic struggle for a free united Palestine from the river to the sea, striking blows against the IOF and defending the people of Palestine.

Despite the heinous war crimes committed by the IOF, the Biden administration is continuing its unwavering support for the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the US Senate has approved another 14 billion in aid to apartheid Israel. Students for a Democratic Society condemns Joe Biden and the US Congress’s complicity in the Genocide in Gaza and demands an immediate end to all US aid to Israel. SDS also stands in unconditional solidarity with the Palestinian resistance in their struggle against Israel and condemns the Israeli bombing and invasion of Rafah.
